Lino Printing - Essentials Kit

£35.00

Lino Printing - Essentials Kit

What’s in your kit: 2 Lino Sheets, Block Ink, Block Ink Tray, Roller, Cutter Set, Card, Pen

Lino Printing is a form of block printing that involves carving a pattern or design into a sheet of lino and then using ink to print that image onto your chosen surface.

With your chosen design you can draw or trace it onto your block of lino with pencil and go over it with a pen so that you can clearly see the lines you want to cut. Remember your print will be the reverse image of what you see on your lino (this is particualry important if you are carving text) and whatever you carve out will not show up on your print.

Always cut away from your fingers as the cutters are sharp.

Once you have your desired carving, place a 20p sized blob of ink onto your ink tray and roll until it is all covered and sounds tacky. Spread this evenly over your lino and place your paper/card over the top being careful not to move it too much. Apply even pressure over the whole surface to ensure all of your lino has printed. You can now lift you paper and your design will have printed!

Wash your lino to change colours with warm water and soap and continue using it.
